POPmail/PC version 2.7.1
=========================
New Features and Bug Fixes
==========================
* Enclosures are now cleared when a message is forwarded.
* POPmail will work with MailStop servers when messages are waiting.
* The header on BINHEX enclosures has been fixed. Some
binhex decoders did not recognize POPmail enclosures
as binhex documents.
* POPmail will no longer lose messages if the disk becomes
full while reading mail. Caution: this bug may not be
completely fixed.
POPmail/PC version 2.7
======================
New Features and Bug Fixes
==========================
* Prompt for password no longer hangs.
* If disk is full, messages are no longer deleted from
the server unless they can be successfully downloaded.
* /Batch parameter no longer hangs if prompt
for password is set.
* ICMP requests are now handled properly and no longer
hang POPmail/PC.
Unfixed Bugs
============
* If a nameserver or gateway goes down, POPmail does not
select an alternate.
POPmail/PC version 2.6
======================
New Features and Bug Fixes
==========================
* Help can be obtained at any time by hitting the
F1 function key. Help is context sensitive.
* The status line gives context-sensitive information.
* Finger will now work even if your Mail Host is not
running finger. Finger will now display larger buffers.
POPmail/PC version 2.5
======================
New Features and Bug Fixes
==========================
* The printer setup information is now saved from session to
session. This info is saved in the POPmail.CFG file.
* The "Printer Setup" dialog box now uses the S hot key.
The r hot key was over committed.
POPmail/PC version 2.4
======================
You will need to recreate your configuration file (POPMAIL.CFG).
Please erase your old configuration file before executing
this new version of POPmail.
This release MIGHT support LocalTalk PC. See below for details.
New Features and Bug Fixes
==========================
* Word wrap added in message field of the Composer window.
* The rotating cursor no longer appears in the wrong place
when fetching/sending messages.
* Selecting a group with F5 used to place the group contents in
the TO: field even when the cursor was active in another field
in the composer. Now both TO: and CC: accept a group. If the
cursor is not in TO: or CC:, you will get a message saying that
you can only insert a group definition into TO: or CC:.
* The Viewer window used to place the cursor in the "TO:" box
by default. Now the cursor is placed in the message text by
default.
* Now internet node names may be up to 64 characters long, to take
care of those long node names in places like Germany.
* As required by the RFC, a blank line has been added between the
SMTP header and the message body.
* Appropiate commands are highlighted and dimmed based on the
currently active window.
* We have added LocalTalk support.
* Composer and Viewer window positions are saved and restored
from the POPmail.CFG file.
* We substantially revised the manual.
* The advanced dialog box now has parameters for the POP port as
well as the Finger port.
* CRC and other error checking was added to BinHex enclosures.
* Improved progress and status information was added to the
status dialog box.
* Longer passwords may now be used, to take care of those long
passwords used with some non-Unix machines.
* More foreign language character set translators were added.
* More keyboard equivalents and other user interface improvements
were added (see the manual).
Bugs Not Fixed
==============
* Windows can zoom to an inappropriate size if you switch back and
forth from 25 to 43 line mode.
* If you use the /BATCH parameter and have POPmail set up to
query for a password, it fails with "Invalid username or
password.: - login incorrect." It does not query
for a password in this instance.
